Hi;
I am installing an Autopage keyless/remote start system w/alarm on a 1996 Voyager. The Voyager came with a factory keyless/alarm system. Instead of trying to get the two systems to work with each other, I think it would be easier to just remove the factory module. Could you please tell me where the factory alarm-keyless module is located? I am in the US Army stationed in Korea and there are no Plymouth Dealerships here.
Thanks
Pat

You CANNOT remove it....its controlled thru the BCM, ya cant take THAT out....its not a big deal to "interface" with the factory security and keyless....

Thanks;

I thought that might be the case today when I pulled the dash apart. What surprised me is I dont think the factory alarm will come into play at all. I read in the forum where you can solder a wire to one of the legs of a relay to actuate the door locks on that vehicle, and do the same thing (on a different relay) to actuate the unlock. I found the relays that I needed and soldered the connections and everything worked fine. When I removed the ignition wiring harness from the key tumbler, I was able to start the vehicle by crossing the wires without any problem. Even the starter automatically disengages itself after the vehicle starts. Only thing I am not sure about is if I need to hang on to the original keyless entry control to reset the factory alarm if it ever trips. Do you know if you can reset it with the key alone? Thanks for your help and any thoughts you may have

that factory alarm should be able to be turned on and off by using the key in the door. that's what i recall of it the last time i did one of those vehicles.

hmmm...why take my word for it? just go out and try it!

KarTuneMan and Jim...Thanks for the replys. Is there anyway that you know of that I can have my Autopage Alarm System, deactivate/reset the Chrysler Factory Alarm. As of now, I must use the key to reset it. It would be nice if I could get the auto page to communicate with the Factory alarm instead of having to run to the vehicle with the key. Thanks for any help.

have a look here, look under "factory disarm", get the appropriate resistor, place it inline with the disarm wire coming from your autopage, and connect. should be good to go! good luck!
