Im installing a viper 690xv in a 2004 jeep liberty.Im having problems with parking lights i know iv got to use a relay and a resistor some say a 1000 ohm others say a 910 ohm with 5 % tolerance.I was thinking of useing a standard polarity inverting wireing for the relay https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page1.asp. The diagram I see says a 900 ohm resistor. Another says 910 like you said.  If you have a positive output only for parking lights on your viper than just use the relay diagram to convert to negative like you are thinking of doing. Sounds like you're on the right track.
