The new GM's/Pontiac/ Chevy's that do not have a starter wire will not require a starter disable relay because you can not grind the starter. You can sit in the car and start it, but leave the key in the start position forever ( if you want ) and it will never grind the starter because the starter circuit is activated after the power drop from the accessory circuit. This is great cause you never have to install another relay for starter disable into those newer GM's. You will need a bypass module that will integrate into the ignition system , I use the PLXR ( newst veriosn of D7 required ) and it takes care of everything. It's a great module and works like a champ ( just make sure you have the newest S, H & D on the modules ).

i would only need the bypass module for a remote start not for a naormal alarm keyless entry install right?

and i think botho of these from looking at the wire codes should be a easy straight foward install anything i should look out for
thanks for your help guys

The bypass module is not necessary for security only systems. The only problem you might have is the unlocking/disarming of the OEM security system. If it's anything like the Pursuit that I worked on, the only way to disarm the OEM system is with the OEM remote control or remove the programming from the vehicle.

has anyone figured out how to disarm the factory alarm on the cobalt. i dont want to have to make them use 2 diff alarm remotes thats kind of points less.
i noticed on the equinox that the factory alarm only arms and disarms with the facroty remote so if we dont use it at all then theres no problem. the cobalt isnt the same way.
please let me know if anyone found out anything thanks
