Hi

I have a Code Alarm CA-645 installed on my car. Now, my problem is that the siren will go off when i open a door...etc. It just dosent sound when i arm/disarm the alarm, and theres like no sensitivity to it( i basically need to kick the car for it to go off). Do i need a new siren or is it something else. Please help!!!! Thanks In Advance!!!!

you might need to program the arm and disarm chirps to the on position.

This is usually why people pay bigger bucks for systems like Clifford and some higher end Vipers because the "sensors" really MAKE the alarm system.  The Clifford systems come with Omnisensors as the primary shock sensor and they are incredibly sensative.  You can adjust the sensitivity, of course, but they have the ability to be very sensitive if you set them so.

You just don't get this on lower end alarms.  You can try adjusting the sensitivity, assuming that you have that option on the Code alarm (not as familiar with that brand).

Good luck!

you can adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor, and try to program the alarm read the instructions .

the instructions dont say anything about shock sensors or how to adjust the sensitivity. whats really bothering me is that the siren dosent sound when i arm/disarm the car, only when a door/hood...etc is opened. This is the main problem i want to get fixed.

Everything is included in the brain for that alarm, there is no external shock sensor.  As for programming the shock sensor; and the arm/disarm chirps, if you had it installed at CC take it back there, the shock sensor programming is a 5 minute job or less, and the arm/disarm chirps can be activated with the RF progammer in a snap.

To adjust the shock sensor yourself

with the driver door openturn key to run postion, within 10 sec push and hold valet overerride switch until alarm sounds, you will hear 3 chirps, this is the transmitter programming mode(if you have any extra remotes to program, now would be the time).  Push and realease the valet button 2 more times until you hear 5 chirps, this is the shock sensor programming.  Push the opt button on your remote and you will hear the alarm sound one chirp, this is the primary or warn-away sensor programming, push your lock button to increase sensitivity and unlock to decrease.  Push the opt button again, the alarm will sound twice, this is the full trigger sensitivity mode, again lock/unlock to increase/decrease, turn the key off when done and test your new settings, you'll probably have to repeat a few times to get it right where you want it; I usually do.

Hit arm or disarm twice to have the chirps. It set to silent chrips.

sure; to activate arm/disarm chirps:

turn ignition on then off

within 10 sec push and release valet override button 3 times

1 chirp confirms chirps enabled / 2 chirps confirms chirps disabled

hope this helps!

alright, i tried to adjust the shock sensor and activating and diasrming the chirps, but when im pushing/holding the valet button i get no chirps. Like i said the alarm will go off if its triggered by opening a door......it just dosent chirps when i arm/disarm, and theres no sensitivity chirps to it.

I'd have to agree with swamprat; the instructions I gave you came straight from the installation manual for this alarm and they should work;  how long did you hold down the button?  I know they say 10 sec, but I've seen it take much longer to enter programming mode.

alright just a update. i went to cc and they told me the brain was fried. so they gave me a new brain and pager remote for free because anything they install or the pager alarm i have had a lifetime guarantee, which felt good to know that i didnt have to dish outmoney for another alarm. also i saw that they had alot of other alarms that they were sending back as defectives. one more question, is there a certain amount of times i could hit the lock/unlock buttons to increase/decrease sensitivity? and how do i do the warn away mode? thanks in advance people!!!!!

The shock sensor has 64 levels for adjustment. Each time you hit the button is one level, up or down.  They're usually set pretty high from the factory.  When you enter the programming mode and get to the shock sensor prgramming, hit the opt button on your remote and the alarm will chirp once, this is when you set the warn-away, once you have it set, hit the opt button and it will chirp twice, this is your setting for the full trigger sensitivity.  Oh and when you're adjusting it and the alarm gives you a different chirp(a longer one) you are at the limit of sensitivity adjustment.
