well did u program the tach wire?    Those bastards can be a pain to get the tach to actually program.     How many times to the parking lights flash?     Did you hook up a siren?   If so,  does that chirp when you hear the brain click?

Make sure that you have the starter wire for the RS on the right side of the starter disable relay ( if installed ). It should be attached to the motor side of the cut starter wire.

yeah your 7 flashes means the tach is not programed correctly.

Tach program:

turn key on, press valet button 3 times, turn key off.

Press and hold valet button as you start the car.   The parking lights should flash indicating the brain learned tach.   I would hold the valet button down for atleast 10 seconds just to make sure.

It is deffinitly a tach issue.   You may have to repeat those steps a few times for it to learn.   But it should be all set

You can also set it to tachless mode, which cranks for either a set amount of time, or averages the time that you crank it over the last 5 or so starts.  I would definitely recommend using the tach, but if you cannot get the tach to read properly, tachless is always an option with this system.

Well I did program the tach wire, but after a remote start        attempt, the parking lights flash 3 times and on my 2 way pager remote, the words (inhibit) flash 3 times at the bottom of the screen. What does this mean??And also the trunk open indicator lights up when the alarm is armed. Could this have anything to do with it? What wire does the trunk pin wire have to be connected to?

Well it sounds like the brain is in lock mode.   Or atleast thats what I call it.   You will probably have to pull the fuses on your 12v wires and then re-install them.   This resets the unit and should take care of your inhibit problem.     But before you do that check your hood pin.   3 flashes can also mean that you have a bad hoodpin.   Check that first then go with the fuse route.

As far as the trunk pin.   I dont think your vehicle has a seperate trunk pin.  So I am guessing that maybe you used the wrong wire for your doorpin.    I think that vehicle has - door triggers and if that is correct you should of used the (green - door trigger input wire)        Otherwise check to see if the Blue/White wire is hooked up or grounding out somewhere.   That I believe is the trunk pin wire.   Its labeled as an instant - trigger and is commonly used for trunk pins.

also check to see if the brake wire is resting a postive that would cause inhibit to show up on the remote too

We used to do that on occasion at work, until they start coming back on a regular basis. Every one of them would flash 3 times on an R/S attempt, and wouldn't allow us into programming mode to reprogram tach. The whole brain had to be unplugged and reset. and tach had to be run. I don't know how the new 425A brains handle it, but the older 425's couldn't be run without tach.

I wouldnt say they couldnt be ran without tach.   I have mine installed without a tach.     But if your installing them into GM's I would always use tach.     Their 12v wires drop pretty low in voltage during crank and that will put the brain into lock mode.      Also if you have scrape paint in the kick panel and ground it there,  you will have much better luck when running voltage sense.

I finally got the remote starter working. But now have ran into another problem......My truck will start if remotely started, but if I turn the key to start it, the truck only turns over but won't catch. After the truck is started remotely, and I turn the key to the on position, and press the brake to drive the vehicle, the truck shuts off. Does this make any sense to any one? Please help me..
