I'm installing an alarm in a 1997 Toyota Camry with factory power locks. I've heard several bits of info on wiring the door locks, since there is a child protection wire or something to that effect? What I was told is that unless you hook up this wire, the switches inside the car will be disabled. Wondering if anyone could provide diagrams to aid in this or do I need to just hook up and dioide isolate both unlock wires to the unlock wire from my alarm brain?

Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

Yes just diode isolate the unlock wires. The child safety wire I believe is Blue/Red.
What you were told must have been misinterpreted.
Power Lock dk. blue/white - org plug bottom of fusebox
TOYOTA, CAMRY, 1997, Power Lock
The lock wires are about 18 gauge. They will test only by operating the key in the passenger door lock cylinder, not the rocker switch on the door itself.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.
