I just had a FM-2009 remote 2-way installed today.  Paid big bucks to have it installed.  The installer was even stumped on this one.  I have a '79 Vette.  before the alarm was installed my dome light (time delay) worked normal.  Now it stays on until you turn the key to the on position.  When you turn the key off, it comes on and stays on (regardless of whether the doors are opened or closed)..............forever or until you turn the key on again.  This also disables the door triggers on the alarm.  Now here's the other problem.  When I attempt a remote start, everything begins to work except the starter and then cuts off altogether.  The parking lights and all the accessories come on including the power attenna if the radio is on, this is the way it's designed to work, first the accessories power up and then the starter is supposed to kick in but that's when everything cuts off completely.  The installer said he was able to crank the starter when bybassing the CPU relay so he thinks that this is the problem.  I personally think he was running out of time and began rushing the job as I needed the car back the same day for travel.  Why else would an installer return the keys with these problems?

Never rush an install, you ALWAYS get mistakes when people are rushing to finish.  Now you have problems and it will take more time than the original time it should have taken.  When installers are rushed they take "SHORTCUTS".

Take the car back and tell him to take as long as he wants but to fix it and do it right.
