First of all I have to thank ALL of you because I would have never gotten any of this done without reading the posts here.

So now that I'm all good, and have all the wires hooked up right... I have a little issue.

Specs are:

2000 SS Camaro Convertiable 6 speed.

Factory Alarm installed...

Ultra Start 2250M Remote Start/ Alarm

First of all there is this AUTO RESERVATION MODE where you:

Pull Ebrake, press brake twice, take out key, open door, close door.

What it is supposed to do is ---> turn off the car and lock, which is DOES do.  The problem is the next time I try to remote start it, it says "reservation mode not active"  (I THINK it's because when the doors lock or unlock it thinks that the door is opening, due to the BCM)

There is another way to activate RESERVATION MODE called Manual RM. where you :

Press the # key on remote, remove key, open door, close door, press and hold * till it turns off.

This SORT OF works.  The weird thing is that the radio stays on for 10 mins, along with all the power to the car, but at the end of those 10 mins I cant remote start it anymore, due to "reservation mode note active" (agian i think the brain thinks someone opened a door).

https://www.ultrastarters.com/manuals_download_pdf/English/MAN-2250M-OWNERS-US.pdf    <-- there is the owners manual

Now let me explain a little.

My car has this little thing called a BCM (Body Control Module) and RAP (Reserve Something POWER) where it lets you take your key out of the ignition and the radio and accessories stay on till the door opens.

The problem with this is that the BCM also CUTS POWER to all accessories after 10 or so mins, untill A.) the stock alarm activates it, or B.) someone opens a door..   So my ULTRA alarm wouldnt be able to open the door without a workaround. so what I have done is use diodes to have the ULTRA brain send a negative pulse to the BCM to wake it up as the ULTRA tries to unlock doors. This does work, but I think this is the root of the problem with why my remote start doesnt actually start the car after 10 mins of sitting there....

Thanks for any help

~Jeff

-from what youre saying, the car(RAP module) pulses ground to the door trigger and the radio turns off.

-what you should do is to put two diodes (one on each) inline of the independent triggers (driver and pass) so it doesnt back feed to the alarm module when the RAP send the (-) pulse. so youll ending up using 4 diodes altogether.
