I have a Clifford Matrix RSX3.5 alarm system on my Toyota 4Runner that I installed myself. For the longest time, the alarm has worked flawlessly, however recently, the transmitter will stop communicating with the base unit (i.e. won't unlock or lock). To make the transmitter work again, I either have to unplug and the re-connect the antenna at the base station, or take the battery out of the transmitter and wait several days.

I have dropped the transmitter MANY times, so I'm hoping that's the issue. Hoping that the problem was not with the alarm itself, I bought a new transmitter and am waiting for it to arrive.

Does this sound like an actual alarm brain issue or a transmitter problem?

that is a very common problem for the DEI 2-way remotes. after a while some transmitter will stop transmitting to the brain. it happened to my viper 791. got a new remote, works fine.
