Hello, folks,

Haven't wired up an alarm system in about 25 years, so I'm unfamiliar with some of the terminology.

Could you please explain (a) Passive Arming vs. Active Arming; and (b) Valet Mode.

Thanks in advance for your assistance and support.

When your vehicle is in Valet Mode, the remote starter functionalities are disabled. If the vehicle needs to be serviced, or if you park it indoors, the Valet Mode will prevent the engine from being remote-started accidentally.

Passive arming, alarm unit arm by itself a minute or so after you close the doors.

Active arming, you arm the alarm with the lock button.
