I have a 2001 Ford Excursion with the Powerstroke.  I had the RSX3.5 installed and the remote start does not work.  They installed the 555P Ford pats bypass module and even little light on it doesnt even come on, so i am pretty sure its not working or i am doing something wrong.  The truck being a diesel they said they had to install a pulse timer to wait, i think, 10 seconds after the wait to start light goes off to crank the engine.  Long story, but i forgot to take both keys when i took it to get istalled (300 miles from my home).  They gave me instructions on how to program the keys (put in ignition wait for "theft" light to go off, take key out.  repeat for other key, remove key and remote start vehicle)  I am not getting the keys close to each other or anything either.  I am just trying to avoid driving 300 miles back to San Antonio to get this fixed.  Should I get rid of the 555P and go with the 555U??  Thanks for any help in advance,  I really do appreciate it.

The 555P requires very precise timing to work. The installer probably used the blue status output to trigger the 555P because that is what is used for most bypass modules, but he should have used the pink (-) ignition output. The blue wire comes on a split second before the ignition is powered up, while the pink wire comes on exactly the same time as the ignition.

I attempted to use a couple 555P's at my shop before with a non DEI remote start. I never got them to work. I read about the timing issue and figured that was the problem so I haven't tried any more since.

I would have used a 555F on your vehicle.
