i installed a compustar 2fmw900 into my infiniti fx35 about 6 months ago and everything was working until last night. my car won't remote start anymore and it seems to be a tach problem. i tried to learn the tach again and compustar won't learn it. i used that tach wire for the last 6 months and it worked. i know that tach wire for my car is "NOT white or black" at any ignition coil. i tried three different ignition coils and it still won't learn the tach. i didn't do anything to my car except changing out an air filter couple days back, but i don't think that has anything to do with it. can anyone please help. thanks...

I would check with a Digital Mulitmeter to see if you are getting a good reading on the tach at the coils. The compustart unit will accept reading between 1-8 V ac. If it falls below that you will have to find a different signal. Also, check your dipswitch setting for tach inside the unit and that it has not been accidently move. I would also check the Immobilizer Bypass Module and make sure that is also working correctly.

How did you figure that it was your tach signal ? Did you place it into valet mode ? How many flashes does the unit give you after the 3rd attempt ?

Make sure that the tach wire going to the brain is not cut or ripped?  Maybe when you did the air filter you hit the wire???  And make sure it's not in valet too!

good luck!
