I installed s R.S on this vehicle and it worked fine. I can not however seem to get the bypass to program. I am using the Cyrsler unit made by Bypass kit and it has the loop of wire you wrap around the key cylinder. It takes two Sentry keys to program it and you have to hold it "screw side" towards the front of the key Cylinder. The directions arent written well at all for this unit and they are hard to understand. Do you leave the second key in the on position when you jumper the ignition wire to program? I would think that would blow a fuse. If anyone can help me on this I sure would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

look in your owners manual,it usually tells you how to program extra keys, use the method in your manual to program your bypass module.

After you remove the second key in step two, you do not have to leave a key or have the ignition turn over with a key. Step 3 requires you to jumper the ignition wire on and have the module by the ignition key cylinder. These modules are a one time use only and can not be used again for another Dodge vehicle.

First off the programming instructions provided with that unit are usually incorrect. They say to insert the second key turn the ignition on and then remove the key. That's not right and will never work..

Here's the process:

Insert first key and turn ignition ON until light comes on and off (usually about 3 - 4 seconds)

Insert second key and turn ignition ON. Security light will come on, go off, then about 10 seconds later you will hear a chime and the security light will start blinking. Remove the 2nd key.

Position the screw side of the module in front of the ignition cylinder (don't have ANYTHING plugged into the module - not the power harness, not the ring) and jump the ignition wire on the vehicle.

Keep the ignition jumped and the bypass in front of the cylinder for about 15 - 20 seconds. Somewhere in there you should hear a chime and the security light will come on solid and go out.

The module is now programmed.

Also note on certain vehicles it is necessary to power up more than just the ignition wire. Sometimes acc wires are needed. Good luck I hope it helps.

Mike
