i know it is a simple question, and i have looked in the basics column, but can anyone tell me how to use a relay to amplify the ground signal coming out of a keyless entry. is it the same as a regular negative relay?

Yup....12 volts to pin 86 your neg trigger to pin 85 GROUND to pin 87

pin 30 is your "amplified" ground
