Hi, I was wondering if anyone can provide a basic remote start schematic. I have an Omega Freedom 500 alarm. It has an aux channel as for remote starting. My car is a 1995 Corolla, manual transmission. I had a 2-relay plan but lost the paper and couldn't get it back. Thanks a lot !

Yes indeed. I want to know how the are wired up. I saw on the site the 10-relay diagram for remote starting, but that seems like a lot of relays. I guess there would be two kinds of remote starting systems. One on which you only press one remote button, the car cranks, a tachometer signal is used so when it "sees" the car has started, the cranking will stop. The other type would be one on which you press aux button 1 to start, when the car starts you press aux button 2 to deactivate the cranking. Am I on or way off ?? And which of this 2 systems is better? On my alarm system I have two aux channels unused. Thanks guys!

Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be! The possible problems are endless, just buy a decent unit and have peace of mind. Ed ------------- Ed

having you hold down a crank button? that's just nonsense, i wouldn't do it, you can get a remote start add on for like 40 bucks for a good one,, just do that, having you hold down this button or that for cranking just doesn't make sence, how are you going to know if it started? unless you're standing right by it, then you might as well USE THE KEY!... if it goes to long you'll grind the starter, and end up spending more replacing that then you would if you just bought the modual,,,, so really, get a modual, don't rig stuff up like that, it just isn't worth it.. you might as well just rap a rope around the fly wheel and run it into your house, give 'er a pull when you wanna start it up, (just kidding, don't try that).... seriously, get a modual ------------- Bad Boys Customs

I agree with them. There is no way to use two relays and run all of the accessories and ignition, plus start the vehicle. Something will get seriously messed up. Plus it's on a manual tranny. If there are no safeguards like the ones that come on a pre-built module, you will end up sending the car off on it's own.

Actually you cant use relays, that requires 2 aux channels.
