blue alarm scanner?

sup guys just wanted to ask if it's ok to hook up the yellow wire on this scanner for ground when armed to a 12 volt power when ignition is switched to on position to turn off the scanner and no power when off to activate the scanner. wires are red,black,yellow would it hurt anything???

No it's not. The YELLOW wire is expecting a (-) signal and at rest is is probably nothing, so if you add 12 volts to this wire, you will fry the circuit.

Hopefully your +12v is fused and you'll blow the fuse before you fry the circuit though.    posted_image

i think those things are designed to beable to maybe take that... i saw a kid hook it up like that before with no problems,,, no garentee because i don't know modle differences,, but i think you might actually be ok,, because of the fact that any ground switching circut will show a positive at the ground wire when the ground is disconected, they would probably have built in protection
