I'm wanting to install a momentary contact switch inside the door handle on my 2000 F250 to activate a "warn-away" signal. I want to do this so that if someone lifts the handle, they will get the warning to stay the #$@& away. There's no problem with mounting the switch, I just don't know how to wire it to give only the warning and not a full blown alarm. Any suggestions?

For info: I'm connecting to a Viper 791xv.

Any help would be appreciated.

take the warn away wire that goes to the alarm and put it on one sied of the switch and ground the other.

i just realized... you are going to need a relay also. it is going to have to be wired so that when it loses the ground from the switch it sends the ground trigger to the prewarn on the alarm. use the tool bar on the left to find out how exactly how to use the relay to activate the prewarn. the configuration is called normally open. there might be a little bit of a concern with draw if you dont drive the truck for a few days at a time though, because that relay is always going to be on when the alarm is armed
