I'm new to this forum and looking for a little help with a problem we are experiencing on a 2005 Chevy Uplander. I am writing for my installer, who types way too slow.
We installed a Python 1600XP remote start / alarm. Since our installation the customer is experiencing problems that we have never encountered. If the radio is on when remote starting, the radio appears on but there is no sound. The same thing happens if the factory DVD is on. The customer then turns the vehicle off, restarts it with the key and Voila! - problem gone. We've been through it twice and not found anything. We used the 556u interface module.
Thanks for any help

The problem may be with the radio itself. GM is having problems with these radios. Take it to your dealer and have them replace the radio. You may get the same problem with just using the key.

The radio turns on via. data. When you remote start the vehicle the 556u is probably jamming the databus, thus the ECM is unable to instruct the radio to turn itself on. When you start the vehicle with the key the 556u is not communicating on the databus line thus the signal is able to get through.
Try using a databus module that does not jam the databus line. https://support.fortinautoradio.com/bypasskits/bypasskit.php?bypasskitid=4
Whoops, here's the link /w forum code so you dont have to copy and paste.

Th eUplander uses a Passkey system. Use a databus interface module as per Satkunas suggest and the problem should disappear. The GMBP or the PKG5 will work for this vehicle.
