Hey guys, I currently have a Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5, and love it. I saw a small write-up about the avantguard 5.5x that was at CES. does anyone have a feature list aside from the SS technology, thumb wheel, and mile range?   thanks guys

That's about the only new features on the unit.... other than the original great features of the Avantguard 5 (Digital Tilt, Prox and OMNIsensor included plus digital battery backed Smart Siren).  SS technology is still quite expensive, so this is the primary new feature (and two way remote), but to me it's hardly worth the price tag ($959 retail - probably over $600 street price).  I'd still recommend the Avantguard 5 @ $350 and forfeit the 2way, one mile range remote.

If you really think about it, when are you really ever going to be THAT far away from your car anyway?  My car is hardly ever more than 100 yards away from where I'm at.

We report; you decide!   posted_image

oh I agree, even if I was a mile away, I can't run fast enough for the notification to make that much of a difference. but I do love the LCD on it, and the wheel, especially the fact that it's customizable. 600-800 street is expensive, but I have access to dealer prices so the $$ really isn't an issue.. thanks for the info.
