Okay here we go, my searches have been fruitless so I am going to post this. I have a Car-Pro CPX2300 Alarm that I just bought, It only has a single channel so I am wondering if by using relays there's a way to get this thing to pop my trunk. I have a 1991 Chevrolet Camaro, Is there a way to do this? I don't need to know which wires to hook it to in the car, only how to make the schematic to make this happen. Thanks in advance -John

This would be a POSITIVE pulse Release: SPDT Relay:
PIN 87 & 86 = 12 Volt + Constant PIN 85 = Negative Pulse from your unit PIN 30 = Black Wire at Trunk Switch or Harness OR https://www.wiringinstructions.com/231.htm ------------- MO

gotcha, the problem is my alarm doesn't have provision for trunk release the only thing it does is lock/unlock my doors. Im guessing there is no way to add this function in. If not no big deal. What can i expect for 47 bucks

If you have Double Pulse Door Lock on this unit, U might be able to use the 2nd Pulse...............R U sure it doesn't have a 3rd Channel ......like holding down th Unlock Butyton or both Lock & Unlock Buttons for 3 seconds......... For 47 Bucks I would expect Remote Start also.................... ------------- MO

look up a channel creator or expander or whatever from dei, i can't remember the number right now, but you would just hit unlock 2 or 3 times or something and it would give you a neg. pulse for the trunk relay set up,, hold on i'll look up the number.... 450t i guess, that's all i can find, but i think that's WAY more then you want, it's like 40 50 bucks and it will give you 6 or so channels,, so look around, does your alarm have any other outputs you could use? like a while armed output or something? ------------- Bad Boys Customs

The only while armed output it has is a starter kill. Apparantly it doesn't do anything else. It says It has only a single channel. The only things it does is lock/unlock, disables the starter (while armed output), blinks the lights, if you press the locked button again while it's locked it flashes the lights to find the car, umm lesse... straight off the box, Two 2 button remotes, self code learning, remote panic, parking light flash, dual stage shock sensor, output for optional starter disable, door lock/unlock outputs, car locator from remote, elecronic siren, programmable features: Door lock/ unlock pulse timer output, passive/manual arming, passive arm door locking, ignition control door lock/unlock, anti car-jacking, door ajar warning. That's it.

ok, well this is a long shot, BUT, you can use the armed output with a relay or two to make the trunk work,, take the starter kill wire, hook it up to a relay that would connect the lock wire to another relay,, then when you hit the lock again it would pop the trunk,, (you might have to put a very small capacitor in line with the first relay just to delay it turning on for a half a second, this would make sure it didn't pop the trunk on the first click) just an idea, i could prolly write up a diagram if you want, i think with 2 diodes 2 relays and a small cap (like 20uf) or so it could be done, it'd be weird having the lock be the one that pops the trunk, but it's the only way i see to do it, write me back, tell me what you think ------------- Bad Boys Customs

one other way (sorry i'm still thinking) is to use the relay (same amount of parts) so that the lock button would unlock the doors if your car was armed,, BUT if the car was not armed it would unlock the doors AND do the trunk,,, only problem with this is that if you lock the doors without using the remote,, when you went to unlock it with the remote, the trunk would pop... this way would be just as easy, so it's up to you what you wanna do (or you can just get a bigger alarm sys, haha,, write me back) ------------- Bad Boys Customs
