I have an audiovox 800 car alarm installed on a bronco ii the siren seems to be connected to the headlight flash.

I have connected the light flash lead white to the brown wire for the parking lights and the siren wire is connected for positive output to the siren.

When I diarm or arm there is a quick sharp chirps and then a whirling sound as the lights flash.

Thanks for the help

Cheers

TT

Is the sound really muffled and not at full volume?

Sounds like you have a bad ground. Check the groud wire connection for the main wiring harness.

came across this in sound systems where people have run RCA Leades with the power or else crossed the leads at the amp never heard of it in an alarm

Like Auex and Corsicaboy say if it is a really low muffled whirling sound, it is a very high probablility that your alarm does not have a good ground.  Try replacing the ground to the main module and see if that corrects your problem.
