I just got done with wiring my trunk release to my alarm and everything works fine.....but can someone please tell me if the alarm is still armed and i use the trunk release AUX and my trunk pops open....should my alarm be triggered and go off.....or should the alarm stay armed and not notice that my trunk is open and no sirens or anything......P.S   i tried arming the alarm again and opening the trunk with the latch inside and the alarm does go off and my transponder notifying me that my trunk is violated......any replys will be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance...

Not sure what Alarm or Vehicle......
.......but some Alarms DO Disarm when you "pop" the trunk............Some have you Unlock the Doors before opening trunk to Disarm.

Well DEI alarms may bypass certain zones when an aux output is engaged. It isn't really disarming just turning off that peticular input.

if it is just an aux channel then it might not dissarm, but almost all alarms on the chnl 2 or specifix trunk release channel it will disarm and some even unlock the doors with the truck release, this is usually a programable option also, but most alarms have it set to disarm with trunk release

so Captanham....you're saying that my wiring for my trunk release might be wrong....and that my security system should NOT be armed and the sirens should go off...after the trunk is popped????please reply in details.....what is the proper and normal outcome of the security system when the CH2 AUX is activated...

no no no,, sorry if i made it seem that way, i'm not a very good typer, haha.... ok, NORMAL alarms, when you hit the trunk button, will disarm, pop the trunk, AND some company's will even unlock the door,, so when you hit the trunk button, it's disarmed, like you were going from the store to put grocery's in it and then you can just get in your unlocked car and go,, but most companies also make this an optional setting, it disarms like that from the factory, but if you don't want it to most companies give you the choice to shut the disarm off.. did you look at the users manual about this? look at the section that talkes about the RED / white wire, it will probably tell you if it does..If your alarm doesn't disarm, and you want it to, then you can put some diodes on the red white wire to isolate it from the relay for your trunk (if it even needed a relay) and run a wire to your disarm alarm wire on the viper.. then it will disarm with the trunk

sorry if it's not a viper, i thought you said up there that it was, but anyways, most alarms do still have a (-) pulsed disarm input that you could easily tie in to your trunk output so that you can make sure it disarms..

here is a pic of what i was talking about doing, now you would only have to do this IF your alarm doesn't disarm by it'self, and i think that it probably does, so this would be like a last resort

damn this site!, haha, go to properties on the pic, cut and paste the address and add a .jpg to the end of it, this forum has been having problems lately.. anyways, the one relay on there is only if you have a positive trunk wire, if it only needs a negative pulse then you wouldn't need any relays
