I am having a miserable time finding the Door Trigger wire in the D Pillar. I don't see any BROWN / Pink wire. I am installing an HT-800A and I don't think it has dome supervision. Can I just use the ORANGE / White wire at the FEM instead for Door Trigger? Thanks.

Yes, hopefully the note below will help you out.
FORD, WINDSTAR, 2002, Door Trigger
Door Trigger BROWN / pink - passenger D pillar
A diode must be placed in-line on this wire to avoid falsing problems. Cut the wire and put the cathode side away from the dome light, then tie the door trigger input on the cathode side on the BROWN / pink. On models with the puddle lamps on the doors, can also use ORANGE / white in a 20 pin plug at the FEM for door trigger. DO NOT USE THE ORANGE / WHITE FOR DOME LIGHT SUPERVISION. ------------- Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

Thanks. I know this may sound like a stupid question, but if I cut the wire at the FEM to install the diode and door trigger wire, which way is "away from the dome light"? Would that be towards the FEM? Thanks again.

Can also use YELLOW/BLUE (-) At Under Dash Courtesy Lamp If Equipped.

This is probably the best way to describe it.------------- Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

Okay. I used the YELLOW/BLUE (-) at the courtesy lamp as you suggested Mo. I am getting false alarms on a regular basis (about every half hour or so). I am using an isolation diode with the anode towards the lamp. What could be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help me with this? Do I need a higher rated diode?

Try this on the Dome light wire: Some units Will Drop A Low Signal Across The Dome Light And Cause A False Trigger. To Eliminate This, Connect One Side Of 10 k Ohm Resistor To The Door Trigger wire and Connect The Other Side Of The Resister to 12 Volts. ------------- MO

Dome light wire or the courtesy light wire that you suggested I use?

Can someone please explain to me where to find the REM on this vehicle? What is the passenger D pillar?

R.E.M. (Rear Electronic Module) Is Located Behind Passenger's Side Rear Quarter Panel F.E.M. (Front Electronic Module)Is Behind Driver's Dash Panel ------------- MO

I pulled that whole piece off and didn't see any modules. I only saw wiring harnesses (which none of them had the recommended BROWN / Pink wire). The only thing close was behind the driver's side rear quarter panel where the rear AC blower is. There were some modules there, but none said REM and again I didn't find the BROWN / Pink wire. The courtesy lamp obviously isn't going to work because I have tried your suggestion with the 10k resistor and it is still falsing. I need to find this BROWN / Pink wire that is recommended.

Fun isn't it............... I have done a few with & without resistor and the wires are there........ This is for the BROWN / Pink wire, but I don't think you will solve the problem: https://64.85.6.129/extrainfo/diagrams/17044_WINDSTAR_WINDSTAR%20DOOR%20PIN%20ISOLATION%20CIRCUIT.pdf ------------- MO

Thanks Mo. I found the infamous BROWN / Pink wire. I'm an idiot...I didn't realize that the REM was behind the jack (DUH!). Anyway...you are right. It is still falsing. I have it wired exactly as shown in that diagram, but still the same. Should I try the resistor on that wire instead? What about a relay? Also, what the hell is the purpose of this stupid pulse being sent across these wires which is causing the false alarm?

Yes ....put resistor on ..........Also try turning OFF Current Sensing on Alarm if U have it ------------- MO

put a 6amp diode in line with the BROWN / pink wire to avoid the domelight shut down falsing the alarm. the wire for the door trigger could also be located at the driver kickpanel under the foot rest there's a loom that goes thru there that has the door trigger wire.let us know how it went.

Okay. It looks like I got it to work. I had to use a relay. Here is the fix I used. https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/New%20Wires/New%20Wires/Wires/images/windstardp.htm I hope this helps someone else from going through the hell I have been through. Thank you to everyone who tried helping me.
