I installed a IB-PLXR on my 04 Malibu and cannot get it to bypass the security. The car starts and runs for about 6 seconds then shuts off with the anti-theft light comming on. When started the box cliks as if the relay pulls in but it can't be sending the proper voltage to the pass-lock. Any Idea's, I'm at my wits end!

My information says if using the PLXR on an 04, you also need to use a key in the box bypass. I use a key in the box on the malibus/G6, never tried the PLXR so I can't help much more than that. Just make sure you are following the directions word for word I see a lot of our guys having problems with bypasses just aren't following directions most of the time.

Make sure that your GROUND and your GROUND WHEN RUNNING wire are in fact producing a good ground to the module.

Make sure when Programming, U hold the Ignition key all the way to START (crank) position for the PLXR to learn .......The starter will not grind...so don't worry

10-4...............Think DATA.........

https://www.wiringinstructions.com/241.htm

That is for Hard Wiring...........but the PLXR works fine

The Starter Circuit Is A Resistance Value Seen Between The WHITE And WHITE\BLACK Wires With The Key Held In The Start Position (Factory Anti-Grind Prevents Over Cranking During Testing)

In other words I pulled this out because the instruction don't tell you to hold it in the start position. I have been researching a lot here and there seem's to be a problem with manufactures instructions being a little thin. When the unit is in the learn mode it reads the voltage in the yellow wire to the BCM then produces this voltage when the car starter starts the car? Is this correct or am I barking up the wrong tree?posted_image

These cars use PASSKey III Plus systems. There is a transponder in the key. If you look at the key it should have a "+" sign on it. Again I use a key in the box on these vehicles. Works every time.. The only catch is that it has to see the acc turn on before the ignition. Just like it would when you use the key..

Also like I said the 04/05 malibu is listed as an application on the PLXR, but it has a 1 next to it for a footnote that reads:

"Use with a TBK (key in the box) to bypass the transponder chip in the key."
