bit of a dilemma here, my mate had an alarm installed, it started to play up. The car is a 1994 Honda Prelude. What happens is that when you turn the key to the "ON" or "II" position, nothing lights up (the engine check light, Hand brake, etc.) so the car would start and then just shut off as the key would automatically go back to position II (on).
Now the problem here, i have figured out that his ECU is recieving no power, thus there is a bridged cable from the ACC fuse to the ECU fuse, and it works fine. I'm 90% sure that the previous alarm was immobilized through the ECU power. The problem now of fixing it is that i dont know/cannot find which wire provides the power to this ECU fuse connection. Any help would be appreciated

You are not making any sense.. The car does not light up the dash when the key is turned to on. and then you say "so the car would start and then shut off as the key would automatically go back to position II (on) ????
ACC fuse was bridged to the ECU fuse ? What kind of country hack is this ? Why are you messing with the ECU ? The power is supplied through relays if I recall it correctly. If the dash does not light up, then you need to go to the ignition harness..which goes to the fuse panel. The problem probably lies there. Check there first before you go messing with the ECU..

Ok you know when you turn your key to START, the engine would start then the key would automatically go back to the other position (ON). but it cant because its getting no power to the ECU. The ECU seemed to be previously IMMOBILIZED.. but i cant find the immobilization point.
I'm not a professional installer but even i know this. And if you had any idea whatsoever then you'd have a clue to. There is no power to the ECU fuse and a PROFESSIONAL bridged it there temporary, not i.
I have checked the Ignition harness, its all fine. The problem is the lights require the ECU to be on. So the problem definitely doesnt ly there.
BTW what made you think i messed with the ECU?

I can see why some folks get fed up with trying to help at times. You come to a professional site, ask a question, and then proceed to quote "I'm not a professional installer..And if you had any idea whatsoever then you'd have a clue too" I'm not a pro installer either. However, I can tell you that my advice comes with its own warnings..and I have enough shadetree experience to make me humble.
In one breath, you tout a professional installed it.and then in another..help me..Sitting here, I can almost predict what the problem is. But, I'm going to let you hang by the rope you just extended. Type all replies you can, you will be pissing in the wind for me.
i dont know what your problem is. But a professional was paid to do this, and the result was very poor. Which is why i'm trying to figure this out myself. When the car was returned to him he claimed he didnt do it and thought it was dodgy himself.
I have done nothing to the car as of yet, which is the reason why i'm asking for advice. I dont know about your country but in our country we have on our cars either ACC -> On --> Start ... or I -> II --> III

I've checked all the ignition and have discovered..
The ignition switch also turns on the ECU.. is that right? but there is no power going to the ECU thus, the ACC fuse was bridged to teh ECU fuse.
What i think, was that the alarm installer who installed this alarm cut the ECU power cable to immobilize it, it broke contact and this is what happened. :( i hope you understand that. My problem is that i really dont want to go behind the fuse to find it. (might take ages).
I was hoping someone on here has immobilized the power on a Honda ECU so i can know which cable is missing contact.
