Installed a remote start in this windstar today. Everything went fine until the doorlocks. When the locks were tied into the remote start brain, the unlock would not work. I verified that they where the correct wires by grounding them and operated as they should. I also had the aux channel to control the drivers side sliding door.. which worked fine as long as it was unlocked. Was wondering if maybe I needed more of a neg pulse for unlock.. Anyone had any problems with these?????

Is the GEM module shutting down??  Good test: role window (pass or driver) lock doors, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then reach in and it the unlock, does the button work, if not the GEM module ("Generic Electronics Module") is performing it's power supervisory function, and shutting down that system.  If this is the case, there are several different work arounds, pros and cons to most... (I have a 97 Windstar, and I used a little circuit I fabbed up that sent a 0.25 second pulse to the domelights, just enough to "wake up" the GEM!
