ok i've done a search and i'm getting conflicting information.  I need to know if the 2004 Honda CRV requires an bypass for the keyless entry system. Some say that just by using the lock/unlock relays that i won't have to worry about bypassing the stock alarm, others are saying that i need the 556-I unit to bypass it, some even say it's the 556-U unit, so now i'm confused and i don't want to start into it without knowing that i need somethign else.  Can someone who has experience putting in a remote start 791xv into a CRV with keyless entry please give me the information i'm looking for?:-) thanx

The CRV requires a PK3 keyless bypass module or use a universal ( key required ) module for the remote start and the OEM alarm system is only activated by the remote FOB. To check this for certain, open the driver's side window and close the door. Now lock the door with the switch and wait about 1 minute. Reach inside and pull the unlock and open the door. If the system sounds then you will have to bypass the OEM alarm system by unlocking before remote start. If nothing happens, then just don't use the OEM remote key FOB to lock the doors, only use the Viper remote control to lock and unlock the doors.
