I need some help with daihatsu door locks.  There is 4 wires in the harness one wire changes from 0v to +5v (cant remember if it was lock or unlock) the 2 middle wires show voltage spikes the quickly drop back down to 0v straight way.  and the last cable shows no voltage at all.

I think this is a 1 wire door lock system. am i correct?

btw  If i cut the wire that shows +5v when lock, the other doors dont respond.  and if i ground one side of the cut cable it will unlock.  But when i tried to pulse the cable with +12 i killed a fuse.

Does the drivers door have a lock/unlock switch... ?

If NOT you need to add an actuator, to move the lock mechanism in the door.

Hi KarTuneMan

The doors dont have a actual lock and unlock switch (like in the center console of camrys).

But when u insert the key into the drivers door, all 4 doors will lock and unlock together.

When putting key into the passenger door lock, only the passenger door responds.

Install an actuator in the drivers door that will control...Or duplicate the action of the key...and all the doors wil unlock and lock....thats how ya doo it......posted_image

just like hyundai,95 rodeo, kia you need an actuator in the driver door to work with the alarm if not the factory driver motor will freeze up and you won't be able to open your door.

Thanks KartuneMan and Nava94

The security system is 98% done, Door locks worked like a charm.   But I have a problem with the door triggers.   I found the door triggers that will only show neg when open.

My CHEAP alarm from ebay willshows me a 5+ on the door trigger wire.  Is there a error in my manual that shows me the wrong wire?

Here is a link to the alarm from ebay.  https://cgi.ebay.com.au/dll?ViewItem&category=31250&item=4546164469&rd=1

Thanks again for your help guys.

most alarms have a negative and positive door trigger input. does your alarm only have a positive door trigger input?

Thanks for your reply nava94

The alarm has only one door trigger wire.

During testing the wire from the brain will show +5v (wire not connected to anything yet).   The alarm only has one trigger input.  The manual doesnt even mention if the wire was positive or negitive trigger.

In the diagram the blue wire -----------------> One side of door pin                Other side of door pin -------------------> ground

So i assume this is the Positive door trigger?

As for the door triggers it self. Ive found one wire that will show 12v closed and 0 open.

Negitive door trigger?

Do i use this diagram https://www.the12volt.com/images/pos2neg.gif to get the door triggers to work?

Ps. When I connected everything with out relays. The alarm will go crazy when ever the doors are open. The indicators dont stop flashing.

you don't have a green wire for the negative door trigger input from the alarm harness?if that's the only door trigger input from your alarm then yes you just connect that wire to the door pin in your car. if like you wrote when you open the door the voltage drops to zero then you have negative door triggers so you don't need the relay set up.just make sure the wire on the car you tested does the same thing when you open the other doors.if it does then connect the blue wire from your alarm to the door trigger wire on the car.if the other doors don't react the same way and the voltage on the wire from the car still remains the same when you open the other doors then you have to find the other door pins for the rest of the doors and diode isolate them from one another to the blue wire of your alarm.

Ive tried to connect it the way you mentioned. It seems like when ever the dome light or door triggers are on the alarm just keeps flashing its lights.

Have i found the wrong door trigger wire?

Hi Nava94

Is it normal that the door trigger wire from the brain of the alarm to show +5v if its a negitive trigger?

ill have to explain this to get a replacement.
