Hello,

I was looking over the installatin guide on the 791 xv. I'm confused on the H1/3 WHITE/ blue remote start wire. Where do I connect it? I havent did an alarm install for about 7yrs. I'm a little rusty.

Thanks

As seen on page 18 of their guide if you did not change the factory setings if this wire receive 2 consecutive pulse of ground the remote start will engage...

Leaving the stock settings alone. I don't need to hook up this wire. Right?

This wire is so you could hook up a momentary switch inside the car to activate the remote start. (Never understood that since if you were in the car you could use the key).

If you want this option hook one side of the switch to this H1/3 wire, the other side to ground. Push the button twice and the remote start should activate.

smoke signals.....

you are right, there is no point of having a button inside the car to start the car with.....but you could use it for a remote start timer or some other device.

That wire is so you can 1) test remote start while you are installing/troubleshooting it to see if it (remote start) works. 2) to tie it into an existing system that already has an alarm/keyless entry so you don't have to carry 2 remotes. For e.g. you have a keyless entry unit that can emit pulses on a different channel which you can tie into this wire to make it start. You can also do 3) which is start button. 4) You an also tie it into a door keypad.. There are multiple uses for it..or, just don't use it..
