Won't work. Roll the drivers window down, reach in and crank the car(it won't start), then let the key return to run, walk away for a good 20 minutes, come back crank again and then the car will start and the computer has been reset.

What type of bypass module are you using? Does it just tap into the passlock wires, or did you have to CUT any of the passlock wires?

If you didn't cut any of them, just unplug the passlock module, disconnect BOTH battery terminals, touch them together for a few seconds, and then leave them disconnected for 15 - 20 minutes, reconnect and start the vehicle with the key.

If you cut them, disconnect the bypass module, reconnect the wires, disconnect BOTH battery terminals, touch them together for a few seconds, and then leave them disconnected for 15 - 20 minutes, reconnect and start the vehicle with the key.

Just to verify that the vehicles passlock system itself wasn't damaged at all. Once the vehicle starts ok with the key, double check all your wiring and fix the problem. You don't by chance have the bypass module wired so it's on all the time do you?

yah its the GM Passlock I & II Passkey & VATS interface kit you cut the yellow wire from the ignition then from the ignition you conect the white one to the key side and the orange to the computer side. this isnt the first install i have done but this is the first time it did this but i believe it was my own fault because the car wont start by the remote. and i was messing with the wires. however i took the advice of auex and that worked. however it still will not start by the remote it just gives a series of clicks and then locks the doors. I will do some reading through the posts but if anyone has any advice in the mean time i would apreciate it.

Thanks

Make sure your Pink & dk. green Ignition wires are getting 12 volts during the remote start sequence. then check that your starter wire is getting 12 volts after the ignition is powered.

Good way to check that your Ignition wires are powered is start it with the key, then turn on the remote starter then turn off the key. If the engine stays running then your Ignition wires are okay.
