ok ive been trying to help my friend out with his alarm and we can figure this about by troubleshooting. he has a viper 300esp and he got it about 2-3 years ago.

this is what works on it now
-auxillary output
-auto door locks
- panic button siren

not working anymore
- engine kill
- actual alarm

yea pretty much all security features of this alarm dont work, but the cool conveince features do. when he engages his alarm on the remote his doors lock, but his alarm doesnt engage. and like i mentioned earlier his engine kill doesnt work anymore.

anybody have any ideas or suggestions on what we should look at to try and fix this. the place he got it installed at is shutdown now so we cant take it back there.

does the LED stay on at all times, it sounds like the alarm is in valet mode. to turn off. i bleive trun igntion on then back off then press the valet button. all this doen in 10 sec. aslo do it by remote.....open door hit button 1 then button 2 then button 1 again. the led shoudl go out.

if the siren doesn't chip, most likely it is in valet mode....
