I am studying for the MECP and I have a question about powering an alarm. In the alarms I have installed, In most cases I always used the constant 12V wire found in the ignition harness to power the alarm. However, the MECP Basic study guide recommended that the alarm should be powered from the battery. I wanted to know what method is best? I never had an issue with using the wire in the ignition, but I want to ensure I am during a quality install.
