Hi,

I'm installing a Clifford Matrix 3.5 into a 04 Navigator...  the central window control are located in the center console.  The driver's door has one touch up/down.  According to the directech instructions... I can  wire all windows at the center console except for the driver's door... according to directechs doc... the driver's window motor has an internal circuit that controls the up and down and "may" require the motor to be dismantled to bypass the internal circuits.

Question is... what will happen if I just wire it from the center console??  Is this ok or advisable??  If I do need to take apart the driver's window motor... has anyone done this and any comment or directions on how to proceed?

Thanks!

Ken

If you wire the switch ( REV POL ) from the motor, it may do nothing. It won't hurt anything as long as you wire the system as a REV POL to isolate the switch from the motor.

Jeff,

Did a lot of research... problem is... if I cut and wire the DEI 530T module at the motor... I have to take apart the motor and find the and modify the circuit board... after which... I have a strong feeling that the stock switch will no longer work becuase the driver motor is also current sensing and if it does not sense current... it will cut power to the motor.  There are 8 wires going into the motor.  The motor recieves up (+12V), down (+12V) and Auto (-) commands from the switch.  All wires to Driver Door windows are low current as they are simply sending signals and the Driver's window motor receives the command and does the things the switch tells it to do.

If I cut and tap at the switch... the 530T module may not work correctly as it cannot sense the current draw from the motor and therefore will stop power to motor within a second or 2.

I was thinking I can simply hook a relay to the 530T to send a ground signal (along with the +12V signal) to the motor for auto up command so the driver motor will auto up.  but ran into another problem... the vehicle will cut power to the motors as soon as the door is open... motor only has power when the key is in the ignition position or until a door is opened.

Has anyone done a 04 Navigator and can give me some insight as how to do this???  the other 3 windows are working perfectly.

Thanks!

Ken
