My car has manual tranny and an aladdin 2000 alarm. The brown module loop on the alarm selects the type of tranny (cut - AT, uncut - MT). I'm fairly sure that the only difference is the safety measures applied. And while it's good to be sure you left it in neutral when you remote start, sometimes I'd like to be able to start it even when I didn't go through the procedure (when I forget things in the car and need to open it, for example... yeah I do that a lot....).
So I was thinking of putting a switch on the module loop, so that normally I can have it in the MT safety mode, and other times in AT mode making sure to leave in neutral. Does anyone know if the alarm could be damaged at all from such on-the-fly changing?
Also, it was advertised to have a turbo-timer, but the closest thing i found to that is quick-stop. How do I make it keep the engine on for a minute or two after I take out the key?
Thanks!

The only thing that can be damaged is property or people if installed into a manual transmission vehicle without the safety in place. It's up to you, but it will not harm the system.
The QUICK STOP you can program to run for 3 minutes after you remove the key. IT very simple to use and works great with turbo's. Set system to QUICK STOP ON and set the time for 3 minutes.

Thanks, I guess I'll be putting the switch in (won't use it often, but when I do I'll be sure to leave the car in neutral).
As for QuickStop, don't you have to press E before taking the key out? And won't the remote start not work afterwards (with brown module loop uncut)?
One more question: the range is just a tad too little (I need like 20 feet more for signal to reach my house). Is it safe to hook up the car's radio antenna instead of the one on the com-module? Because it's already in the best possible location (I temporarily put it without concern for the esthetics), so the only options I see is using the radio antenna or running a wire along the rear hatch (the car is '93 Mitsu 3000GT VR4).
Since I mentioned the hatch, would the trunk-release module you have on you website work in my car?
Found one of your posts about cutting out the resistor (going to do that). Just out of curiosity though, is it in there solely for FCC compliance or is there a better reason?
Ok last one, what's the diode for on the P9 WHITE (dome light)? Does the alarm not keep +12V on that wire? (I'd check that myself, but... uhum... the brain fried after 2 weeks of use... sure hope the warranty pulls through)
Thanks!
- The QUICK STOP only works for the automatic you are correct.
- If you want better range what you can do is take the silver piece of tape off the side of the communication module. Behind it there is a small resistor that you will be able to see. CUT this resistor and your range will increase by 2 fold.
- The trunk release will work with the 3000 GT no problem.
- The resistor is only there for FCC regulation for sales of unit in the USA
- The diode on P9 WHITE wire is for systems with more than one door trigger and you need to isolate the triggers from each other.
- Warranty is GREAT !! Just don't try to fry it on purpose
