Hey everyone,

I've been having some problems with the LCD remote on my Compustar.  It sends the signal to the car fine, but it wont always get the signal back.  I found that if I tap the face of it a bit (smack it around lol) then it will work.  I'm thinking that something has come loose inside, but I don't know how to take it apart, and I don't want to ruin it either...  Anyone have any ideas on what is happening?

If it matters it is on a 1992 Civic DX

Thanks

tim

At what range does this happen ? Far range, short range ?

Any range.  But if I hit it, it will work.  That's why I'm thinking something is loose inside.

I get out of my car, and put the starter in reservation mode, and sometimes it will beep the remote, sometimes not.  Usually now if I tap the remote while im walking from the car it will read it.

Try bringing it back to the place that you bought it from and ask then to try another remote control to see if it does the same thing. If it doesn't then it's something inside the remote, otherwise if it does, then you have other problems that you might have to get warranty for. Compustar has an limited lifetime warranty on their items but I hope you bought this from an authorized dealer otherwise your SOL for warranty on this system.

we have had numerous problems with these remotes.  they have admitted that they have had manufacturing problems with these.....range problems and reporting problems are common

Are you guys installing the 8000 series or just the 900 Fm's ? I have not had any of these problems withthe 8000 series that we get. Just curious.

hmmm...  The range on mine is great, it's just that sometimes the remote won't get the signal.  Is there an easy way to open up the remote?  It's just weird that if I hit the remote it will usually work after that.  Maybe I can find a remote on Ebay to replace it...

Velocity Motors,

I think it's refer to the FLEEBAY series. That's why I am hearing it here.   posted_image

Well, does anyone know where to buy an extra remote?  I checked Ebay, but there are none listed :(.  And anyone know how much the average price for one is?
