after about a month the alarm goes off on it's own and I have know idea where to begin... I decided to turn down the shock sensor.. and remounted it... For some reason the shock sensor doesn't seem to work, but the light on the shock sensor lights up showing that it works... what seems to be problem?

Also where is the best place to start diagnosing when I have a false alarm...?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

The remote control should tell you diagnostics of what is triggering the alarm system to be set off. YOu can turn on and off your shock sensor from the remote control. Did you turn off the shock sensor ? Did you solder all your connections or not ?

An added note to your diagnostics.

Check your hood pin first and make sure that's working properly. Completely remove your shock sensor and see if you are still getting false alarm.

I have installed a 2wss-as in my 2000 impala ls and WOW it was falsing after a month too. My remote showed no zones tripped too. I figured that the system may be erroring from the two programmable inputs as they will not show a indicator on the remote. So I placed a 10K ohm resistor to ground on each input and then used a large ferrite choke ring core to wrap all of my wires through. No more problems.

Also my pager alert (the thing that you knock on the window to trigger) would pick up birds chirping and any loud noises caused erroneous pages being sent to my remote. I cut the white wire in the harness going the the pager alerter and no more pages! Instead of knocking on my window to page me, the person has to open my gas tank fill door to trigger the pager sensor through a magnetic reed switch network bought from RadioShack.

If your hood pin switch is at fault, a little indicator will light up in the driver side window on the remote.
