Hi team Need help with a Prostart remote hooking to a 97 Camry 4 cylinder
1) Engine has two coils & two ignition wires at key harness - I must hook up both to seperate starter relays --right?
2) unit has two wires I think related to an optional function called Secure Lock --"adds an unlock pulse when a start signal is received from the transmitter . it will provide a LOCK pulse 1 second after the module starts the engine & a LOCK pulse 4 seconds after it stops the engine" One wire is to be connectted to the "OEM arm wire(usually the door pin)" The other wire (disarm output ) is to be connected to the "OEM disarm wire" Do I HAVE to connect these wires which don't show up in any Camry wiring I have found?
PS Prostart Manuals are the worst I have ever seen!!

The wires your talking about are used for vehicles that need to be disarmed before remote starting. Yours does not.... you can use the lock and unlock wires in the drivers kick.  blue/white to lock and arm, RED / green to disarm and unlock....requires a double pulst to unlock, first pulse disarms only. ALL ARE NEG(-)  As far as the 2 coils, the only reason to go to the coil is for a tach signal. Your tach can be gotten at the ECM behind the glovebox, BLACK/ orange...this is the BEST signal. And yes, you need to use both ign. wires with seperate relays

Help much appreciated -- You say I "can" use lock & unlock wires re arm & disarm But do I have to by connecting them in parallel with lock & unlock Camry wires? Also may have trouble as starter manual does not talk of double pulse for unlock?
I am trying the tach signal from one of the coils (black wire)as suggested elsewhere . I looked for wire at ECM but so many It was hard to be sure of what I was conectingcan

all you need on this car is to connect the negative pulse lock and unlock wires to the wires that kartuneman gave you for lock/unlock.   You can easliy test these wires by using a short length of wire and a fuse.  just touch one end to the bare wire you stripped and the other to any grounding point in the car; if the locks click, success! But be sure the test wire is fused with the smallest amperage fuse you can find; I usually use 5A or 3.5A.  I also had trouble finding the tach wire at the ECM behind the glove box.   I tested 3 or 4 orange and black wires and none tested properly as the tach, so I went to the injector under the hood , I've never had a single problem with it.  Oh and if your alarm does not have an option for double pulse, you'd just have to do it manually, i.e. hit the disarm twice on your remote.  But the locks on the camry do not require a double pulse to unlock.
