I had a Compustar 2W900 installed into my 2004 Subaru Forester 5spd.

A few Qs: I wanted both ignition kill and starter kill... the compustar comes with a prewired relay for the starter kill, but installer was having trouble putting in the ignition kill. He said the ignition kill relay was buzzing during remote start, typically indicating some type of feedback issue. He thought using diodes to isolate the 2 relays would work, but so far, experiments he has done doesn't seem to work.

I suspected that it doesn't work because I think he's using the starter kill/anti-grind output from the Compustar to drive both relays, which won't work because during remote start, the starter kill/anti-grind is active (disables starter kill) which will disable ignition kill, but car needs ignition power during remote start... I am thinking using the status output on CN2 of the Compustar to drive the ignition kill...

Any recommendations what output from the compustar we should use to control the ignition kill relay ? I'm sure Compustar has recommendations since their "anti-jacking" feature assumes that the ignition kill has been implemented...

Secondly, anyone have wiring diagrams for the Forester ? I'd like driver's priority unlock feature, but the unlock wire that we've tapped into unlocks all the doors at once...

thanks for the info, I'll double check the wiring...

Any ideas on how ignition kill should be wired up ? Default Compustar is to use the PURPLE / violet wire from CN1 which is labelled starter kill/anti-grind to disable starter kill.

Ignition kill works on the same concept as your starter kill. I don't recommend it because there are safety issue when you cut the ignition wire. Example, forget what might have cause it but just imagine your ignition wire becomes OPEN while you are making a left hand turn with on coming traffic. Get the picture!

From experience a well hidden starter kill relay will serve it purpose. No need for unnecessary work. If your car is worth that much to you. Think about tracking device, steering wheel lock, fuel cut off... they are a lot safer.
