Hello everyone, I'm new to this and hopefully I'll be helped as soon as possible. I want to thank you all in advance for help that you are providing.

I purchased HT455 Car Alarm system which I already saw is not very popular from members of this forum. I believe that I connected everything properly but I'm not sure for few wires. First of all I didn't connect wires for Windows and Trunk.  Wires that I'm questioning are WHITE/ blue wire (from car alarm) that goes to Engine Cap (I believe in other words its Ignition coil which I connected to "BLACK / YELLOW collor).  Also another one I'm not sure about is Negative Door Switch. It is green collor on the alarm that I connected to WHITE/ black one in the car.  Plus Door Switch I didn't connect anywhere because I didn't know if it needs to go enywhere at all.  Also I didn't connect BLACK/ white wire that says it goes to open dormer cuz I wasn`t sure if that is something to do with windows or not. The thing is everything works "almost perfect", but my problems are following:

1. When I was testing the alarm, if someone opens the door alarm does goes off, but I was still able to turn on the car and that didn't happen with my old alarm. Also that Override switch doesn't do much to turn off alarm if I don't have keyless remote.

2. When I disarm the alarm and enter the car alarm arms itself soon afterwards and in another 30 sec at most it goes of in the middle of the driving.  This was strange on my test drive.

3. Last, but not least is my main light in the car, one that goes on the top of the roof doesn't shots off for some reason.

I would be very gratefull for anyone that could help me finishing my first project. I thought saving $100 would pay off, but apparently it gave me lots of grief.  Thank you all once again and I will be expecting someone to answer my question!!

Sound like your using the wrong door trigger input wire for the alarm system. Make sure that your using the trigger wire and it's the correct polarity.

Well I understand that, but the thing is that some other people on this forum posted that Polarity is negative and I don't have owner manual for my car so I couldn't exactly figure out 100% which wire to connect it so I did it to WHITE/ black. As I said it works fine but also arms when I'm in the vehicle.

There is a yellow wire that comes out of the relay for the starter kill, did you hook that to the ignition wire?  That is what tells the alarm that the ignition is on and it won't auto arm.  also disconnect the enging cap wire that you hooked up to the ignition it doesn't go there.  I don't hook it up to any thing and I have no problems.  What year and make is your car and I can tell you what your door trigger should be.

Ok I will definetelly disconnect the engine cap wire from ignition. Only yellow wires were thick ones that goes to the ignition (wire from the middle of the relay) and another one (side of the relay) that goes to power source. I own 1999 Civic LX. Thx Daz for your help I`ll be expecting your reply.

Hi i have bought this same alarm, and have been trying to work out the crap wiring diagram!! I plugged it all up of the car using dummy loads and can get it all to work except i cant get it to fire my central locking? Any ideas? I spoke to my uncle who is a master technician mechanic who cant work out the diagram either as its nothing like he has seen before! He said that in the drivers door of my car it is only a switch that fires the passenger door lock, and that i need another motor, prob is it wont fire the spare motor?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Cheers Adam

The two thick yellow wires are for the starter disable. the smaller yellow wire that comes off of the relay is the on that goes to the ignition. look on the wiring diagram and it will tell you witch wire goes to the starter (I think it says ignition coil but i don't remember) and witch one goes to the ignition switch. don't forget to cut the wire between them. The door trigger for your civic is negative triggered and is light green with a red stripe and should be at the OEM alarm plug witch is to the right of the steering column. You just have to use the negitive trigger off of the alarm. That should solve most of your problems.

Hey Adam

I was just wondering which car do you have. If you have car with power locks you shouldn't need any spare motor of any sorts. I agree with you that diagram is crapy as it can be. In my civic I found 3 wires on the side. On the side of your left foot should be something that you can uncover and take a harnes apart wire by wire. There should be 2 wires for your lock/unlock and wire for central lightning. All of them are I believe green in my case. SOme has white on them some brownish. What you need to write is your make of the car and We might be able to help.

Hey Daz

Daz I`ll try to fix it first thing in the morning. I put negative wire on WHITE/ Black wire in the car and that might have given me some problems. Also thick wire I did cut and connect it with those from relay, but I didn't connect thiny one that goes from side of the relay. Thank you for your help and I'll come back here to tell you if it worked.

In overall I think that this alarm is not so bad but instructions are the worst I ever read. Some pages are also repeating. On the box it says that it has 6 tones, but I don't have pages for programing them  or programing almost anyhing. Thx guys see you later.

adam,

The alarm is negitive triggered and your car is more then likely positive triggered and you would need to hook it up like this.

Hey Daz I appritiate your help man. It finally worked for gods sake. Now I got two more minor problems. When I close the doors still the main light is on one on the top of the roof. Another problem is that doors don't lock themselves automatically. It is not a big deal but since I got this far from your guys' help I would like to fix this as well. If not able to thx once again.

can anyone in this post get into the program mode of the alarm if so what wires do you have connected, also the relay that comes with it is wired for an ignition kill, disables the ignition coil, you have to wire it diferently for it to be a starter kill(which i did, starter kill needs all time power, ignition kill needs key on power, which is useless if you not starting with a key)

the default "features" of the alarm are horribl and would like to tunr them off but have been unable to get into program mode as stated in my own topic here on this forum.

thanks

The programing guide is right but the buttons that it tells you to push are wrong it should say(forgive me I don't have the programing guide in front of me) to enter programing press the lock/unlock button and option II (I know that this is right) .  to enable a function press option I and to diable a function press the trunk release button (I think this is right but it might be flip flopped).  just follow the table in the book and go through all 6or7 of them and the it will atomaticly exit programing mode and save the settings.

Thx Daz one more time. While everything works there is something that I need to ask you. Today first time after I hooked everything right when I turn on the car and close the doors, doors didn`t lock at all, second time I tested it they locked but locking kept continuing one after another. Since i started testing it again intervals inbetween locking are wider but still it happens more then once. I`m not sure if some wires are touching each other but it happens. I`ll have to check it out again. Thx for your help and programing I`ll do tommorow.

Peace Igor

Sorry i have a 1989 Volvo 340. The drivers door does not have an elctric motor it has a switch. When you lock the drivers door manually it locks the passenger door. So i have got another motor to unlock the drivers door, if this makes sense?

Regards Adam

That alarm has a wire for neg triggered and one for positive trigger. Look in the manual and it will tell what wire is the positive triggered one and then ignor the neg triggered one.
