I purchased a 2003 Jeep Wrangler with a Prestige 785 Alarm system installed. It does not have a Hood Pin Switch installed.

Can I install a pin switch without disconecting anything or reprograming the system. It seems simple enough to do but being a newbee I want to make sure. I have access to the wire and location.

Is the hood pin switch a good idea? I am concerned with the remote start safety issue even though the remote start switch may be toggled but accidently toggled while wotking on the car.

Any data would be appreceiated.

Thanks for the reply. Any info on Diode installation and Diode size you wish to share?

Thanks for your help. I connected the Hood Pin switch to the (-) Shutdown, Gray/wBlack wire that was unused and available. While I was at it, I also connected the hood pin switch to the Instant Trigger, Brown wire. All works well. I used, 1N-1.5 AMP Diodes in both connections.
