I installed a viper 791xv on my ranger, and everything works fine. but when i remote start it, the voltage guage stays around 10 or 11 volts, then when i put my key in and deactivate it, it gos right up to 14 volts. The check engine light that comes on when the key is turned to acc, also satys on until the remote start is deactivated. Any ideas and help is appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds to me like there's an acc/ign wire not hooked up, which is only getting power through some sort of back feed....
Me
same here could be a acc or ign wire supply problem check all connections, the check light is coming on because it is detecting the engine running but there is no supply coming back from a sensor or something due to a wire getting no supply from remote start but when the key is on it is making the correct supply to all ign acc wires.
let me know how it goes
ill recheck aall of my wires. thanks for your help guys. its a 1993 ford ranger. i used the diagram off here so im sure the wires are in the right place, and i soldiered all my connections, but i will double check.
