I have a 2000 pontiac Grandam and I am having problems with it. It has been reserviced once and now it's acting up again. The light will stay on, but I have found out now that when it's not working, I can't roll my windows up when I have the battery on. I have to turn the car on completely and then roll them up. Then sometimes on the radio I can turn it up and it won't go nowhere. like there is a short in it. Same with the windows like there is a short. Do you all think that I do have a short or is it the ignition key or is it the passlock thing again??? I need help!! you all can email me or send me a message. Thanks, Dana Cook

Passlock shouldnt have anything to do with the windows or radio... may be a class II data problem or a leg of the ign switch not being powered....

so it wouldn't have nothing to do with the passlock/security thing. So when I get a ignition switch, should it take care of the problems that i am having???

whoa boy.... i wouldnt just start replacing parts without getting in there with a meter and verifying what the actual problem is..... it could be a class II issue like i said as well...... you may want to scan for codes as a starting paoint.....

Also remove the last cover on the switch and there will be 5 legs on mine they moved a little where the wires go in and it wastnt making contact so i just used a little supper gule. the rear part of the switch is like $180. also i have a used Passlock II Cylinder off of a grandam malibu .. thats still good if you need one but i dont think thats your problem. Also Do you have a Remote Start? If so Make Sure all your wires have good connections.
