I am getting a DEI (Viper) Pager alarm installed very soon and was hoping they can tap into the heated mirrors and heated window on one of the accessories on the remote...is this very difficult to do?
...I figured that'd be awesome in the winter!

I spoke with the installer and he said that because it goes throught the databus evidently, that they are not able to setup the heated mirrors and heated rear window as an accessory. Does this sound right guys? I mean I trust these guys mostly, but I wanted to make sure.

Is there a way around it?

yes it sounds right. if its not in the techsheet, then most likely the installer cant do it w/o goin through a service manual, which is a pain in the butt.

I've seen someone mention that the 457G doorlock/passlock module will also turn on the heated seats and mirrors if it is below a certain temperature. Its not mentioned in the instructions, but DEI's peice is very similar to another companie's module that does turn on those accessories, so I would assume DEI's will too. I haven't tested it myself.

Where are the switches for the heated mirrors/seats? Are they near the memory seat buttons? Those functions are a simple (+) trigger to activate. Maybe the heated mirrors/seats are as simple as that. I'd definately try to figure it out if a customer requested it....for the right price.
