I have a Delta Pro-2002 fm pager alarm (aka Crimestopper 2006 and a few others!) istalled on my 1980 Fiat Spider. Problem is I can't put the receiver/transmitter/antenna above or evn near the rearview per the instructions. The highest location I can find for it is above my radio. Is there a way to loop this into the stereo antenna?

I am thinking I can put a y into the antenna plug, coil wire round the alarm antenna and plug this into the stereo antenna. Will this be safe or even effective? I would prefer to unsolder or unscrew the antenna from the alarm transmiter and wire this up directly to a cable plugged into te main antenna.

I think i saw somewhere that the frequency for this fm transmitter is in the 440 ballpark. Stereo for car being 88-108 or so... so I am concerned either way that this may not be safe for the alarm antenna.

Any ideas? And are either of these methodes safe to use?

Try not to mount the antenna near any device that emits EMI as this will seriously decrease your range. Try to mount the antenna under the driver side dash ( I mounted these antenna's under there for years and have had good results ) or even in the pillar by the windshield will work even better if you have enough room to put the antenna there. I believe that the radio is emitting EMI noises and is affecting the range of the unit.

I hadn't thought of that. Tis why more brains are better than none... er one! Hey, heard a rumor that there is another watch batterie somewhere in this. The instructiona are poor and i didn't want to just take crap apart, but is there another battery in the antenna transmitter or remote? other than the AAA?

Rumors are not correct. There is no battery in the antenna of these units ( unless the design is different from Crimestopper to Delta ) but I don't think so. If you take the single gold screw out of the back of the antenna there is nothing there except the circuit board for the antenna and some pods for adjustments ( ???? )
