I drive a '93 Mustang LX with stock power locks. They look to abe a 5 wire, ground at rest system. Pretty common so far. I hooked up the power locks from the alarm following the diagram for a 5-wire locking system, but it shorts out when I lock the car with the alarm!! The stock switches still work as normal, and I can un-lock it just fine through the remote, just not lock the darn car. When I lock it via remote, the relay sounds like it grinds and there looks to be sparks from the stock actuator (bright lights from behind the door frame in the general area, away from the relays). I've triple checked my wiring, and still at a loss. Any ideas??

If your Factory switches still work and U can UNLock your car with your Aftermarket Remote, then the problem should be:

1. wiring of the Lock  & UNLock Relays....PIN 87 & PIN 30 may be reversed.
OR
2. You are on the wrong Lock  ( or UNLock ) wire.  ( PINK / Yellow )
I would Meter all wires and make sure you have the correct wires for UNLock & Lock and hooked to Relays correctly ....Again........
I know U probably checked & re-checked, but problems are found by checking.
