I put a remote starter (scytech) in an 04 colorado today. the problem i'm having is when i remote start it, it will start up fine until i put the vehicle in gear. after its started and the key it put in and the truck is put in gear, the check engine light comes on. I have the passlock system (and the starter system) bypassed by using two relays. if anyone is familier with directechs doc. its 1603.  the resistace in the vehicle is 3220 ohms and i have 3199 ohm resistor inline so i'm pretty sure thats close enough. If you start the truck with the key, everything is fine. the only way to get rid of the engine light is to disconnect the battery for about 5 min. any ideas out there????

I've spent the last few hours wracking my brain on this one, and heres my only ideas. (the vehicle is gone till tomorrow) the ground while running wire or status output that activates my relays only has a -200ma output on it. My thought is that it may not be enough juice to make it work.

the other idea i have is the vehicle is seeing two resistances. For example the chrysler vehicles where you must hook up a keysense wire to stop the car from reading two different keys. my only problem with this is there is no keysense wire in the colorado. the passlock wires control Passlock 2nd ignition Starter and Keysense. My idea is to use a pulse timer relay and set it up for about 15 seconds to shut off my bypass so the car doesn't see "two keys". in this car you can start the vehicle then cut the resistive wires and the car will stay running without going into tamper mode, so in theory this should work.

PLEASE any other thoughts on this let me know. If you think this will work or won't please reply. I'm dying over here.

The check engine light still comes on when you put the key in though

I would want to check PIN 87 & 87a from the ignition, to be sure they are correct.
When U put the key in under Remote Start, it should already have the proper Resistance code.  Sounds like you are getting 2 Resistance codes.
I would rather use a Omega PLXR

I did use the PLXR at first, but had the same problem, so I switched to the two relay method.
