How do I disable OEM Alarm? I want to install a new alarm system to replace a malfunctioning OEM unit. The car will start and run 3 times for 3 seconds, then starter will not work. Cannot reset alarm so car will run. Has left me stranded several times.

Factory Alarm Disarm when you unlock the door.

question do you have a silver key? if so it is probably your factory anti theft that is causing your problem and disarming the car will not solve that. 98 caravan has a singlewire doorlock system that uses resistance to lock and unlock also there are two different wires to use one if you do not have a factory security system and the other if you do the resistnace is different for the arm disarm wire a site i like to use for schematics is techservices.codesystems.com username:diy password: 852 that is code alarms self install site and i love the schemtaic information they give. if you have a grey kwey odds are you need to go to the dealer and have it checked out unfortunately
