Hi guys,

I have a 2002 Honda Accord EX and am shopping for an alarm to replace the stock system which is very bare bones. I was looking at the RSX 3.5 because I like the idea of having a 2-way system, but a lot of folks seem to be recommending the Avantguard G5...why is this? I am interested in both a high level of security and remote start...it would seem to me that the 2-way would be more "high-tech" but I guess I can see some shortfalls - like being out of range at about 2 city blocks.

So, I'll probably go for the Avantguard...those of you who would choose that over the RSX, what features make the Avantguard so desirable? How is it better than the RSX? Does it have any shortcomings?

Thanks for the info!!!

People choose the RSX 3.5 over The AG5 because of the 2-way system. They want to know when their car is being temper with. Also it’s cheaper for the alarm and installation.

Like Powermyster said...wait for the Avantguard 5.5x. With the optional wireless immobilizer and 1 mile paging, you will have the best of both worlds.

as of yesterday my rep said there is no ETA at all on the AVG5.5......

there is however a release date on the new 900 MHz Clifford 1 way units (1 mile range) and they are working on the 900 MHz Responder units as we speak
