Compustar Alarms The Best?

I was told to check out compustar and i found an alarm i like, its an 2W900FM-AS... I was comparing it to the G5 Clifford. Which is better ?

I'm also interested about any opinions on their range. The 2WSS-A claims 6000ft of range, and while I realize I'll never see that kind of range in the real world, I was wondering how good it is. Also, is the starter interrupt they use a normally on or normally off relay? Basically I'm wondering if someone just hacks out all the wiring for the alarm will the car then start since it lost current or not?

I'm partial to Compustar cause I sell it. The 900 series have great range & security features are second to none ( IMO ).

i sell both brands and they are both a great product... i put a Clifford in my own vehicle, but you cant go wrong with either unit.....

the new Clifford units have a selectable starter kill circuit, so you can chose normally open or normally closed.....there are advantages and disadvantages to both.....

The car will not start if you remove the system from the vehicle without reconnecting the starter wire.

So they use a normally off relay?

other than the clock and the temp sensor whats really the difference between the 900 series and the 2wss series velocity??? i have a 2wss and am thinking maybe i should have got the 900 series?? what are your thoughts

The 900 series runs off FM frequency while the 2WSS uses the spread spectrum technology ( 433 mhz ). The 8000FM is identical to the 900 FM series but uses a 433 mhz frequency that equals the range of the 900 series. I installed both and the range was within 10 feet of each other in the same make, model & year vehicle.

Also wanted to add that the 8000FM series can interface with all 433 mhz systems as a secondary system for 2nd car operation.

so the 8000 and the 900 are the same in distance?? the 2wss will have better distance than both the 8000 and the 900?? thanks. new to the line thinking about picking it up just trying to learn all i can first.

The the range on all three units will basically be the same ( within 25 feet of each other ). The main factor that I can see in these sstems will be compatibility issues with trying to integrate secondary systems for 2nd car operations.
