I've got a customer who wants to use their factory remote to operate a Crimestopper RS900VII.

Unfortunately, the factory remote doesn't work with ign on. Anyone know the wire color for the ign "in" to the keless/alarm on it? Simple to bypass with a relay, but I want to be sure about which wire to grab BEFORE taking it on. Can't find the fact. info on any of the databases.

Anyone?

tell them the factorys range is too limited and just stick to aftermarket units.

Myself....I would tell her you "CAN'T" allways get what you want. (like Mick said)

Sounds like the type of customer that you'll end up being "married too" with dis-satisfaction.

An uneducated fool type of customer....the kind we can all live without.

She don't even know what the heck she drives.....

I don't believe the RS900VII has the input for using the existing factory keyless remotes. You would need the RS901 OEM Interface model which has a 3 pulse input wire that connects to the door locks. How are you planning to use that remote start unit as an add-on?

Take her outside and park your car next to hers if you have a good range aftermarket system installed in yours. Walk away from them with both her remote and yours in hand until you can no longer lock hers. Then keep walking until you can barely control yours and say would you rather be able to start your car from this far away or on top of your car. Tell her she might have to go out in the cold snow just to get close enough to start the car using her original remote. Tell her she might even be able to start her car from inside the mall while she's shopping if she puts the better unit in. Conditions depending of course. ;) Just a thought. lol

This girl doesn't want to know anything. I don't want to do it, but i'm good friends with her uncle. He just shakes his head and says ' do whatever"

The 900VII has the green input wire...works fine when programmed to 3 pulses. I've done them before but I just need the ign "in"  wire color on the keyless/alarm to bypass during remote stert.
